Social Media Stories- A Winter Sunrise at WeSUP

This post was shared on social media for WeSUP Paddleboard Centre. I use emotive language to transport the reader to the experience, and promote the club membership through placing them in the story.

The light from the moon was a luminescent crack through my curtains. We arrived to WeSUP as first light began to illuminate the dense cloud at the horizon.

Our feet padded through cold sand and we cursed the thought of once again having to add our wetsuit boots to our kit bags.
As we launched into the water, more of the day began to emerge, the sea gaining a deep teal colour, accentuated by the subtle movement of the swell beneath it.
Mist poured from the mouth of the estuary, and we headed towards it, the light from St Anthony's and the silhouette of Pendennis Castle the only obvious reminders of our location.
As the time of sunrise approached the sun remained hidden behind the clouds, but turning round allowed us to appreciate the colours to the West, the candyfloss clouds and the bright full moon which had awoken me an hour before.
Our return journey to the beach was interrupted by the arrival of the sun, our breaths held in anticipation of the majesty of its appearance. This is always a moment for peace and reflection, and an opportunity for mindfulness before facing whatever the day ahead has to offer.
Mornings are different in Winter. The sun and the sea are ours, and we'll take them at every opportunity we get.
